Play Time Is All The Time

Do you play in your daily life? What says “playtime” to you?

I sneak in a lot of play in my daily life.

  • I play this little game called “How Long Can I Go Without Dropping the F Bomb At Work”.
  • I play music while working out or preparing dinner. Whenever the opportunity presents itself, I also try out my latest dance moves such as The Twerk or The Salt Shaker. (My family doesn’t seem to appreciate this playful side.)
  • I play around by injecting inappropriate comments into daily conversations. “That’s what she said” is a favorite, as it is <mostly> PG-13 rated. This play is closely related to “How Far Can I Go Before HR Gets Involved”.
  • I also play this little game of “Is Today the Day Cari Snaps”. The rules of the game are easy: pile on as much shit as one human can possibly manage, then add one more thing. Fun times.
  • I play with my daughter, whenever she asks me to. I’m going to miss having an excuse to color, play with slime, or create scavenger hunts. Lately, we’ve been jumping on her new trampoline a lot. Here I play, “How Long Can Mom Jump Without Pissing Her Pants”.

Granted, “play” today looks very different than it did several years ago. It takes much less to amuse me now.
