What food would you say is your specialty?
I had to poll the family in order to answer this daily prompt. I make some life-altering potstickers. I’ve perfected a Minestrone Soup recipe that was handed down. Everyone always seems to love my Chickpea Paprikash. I’ve nailed down my Vegan Cheese Sauce. Around the holidays, I make a mean Chocolate-Pecan Pie….What I would consider my food “speciality”, however, probably differs drastically from what my family thinks I do well. I tend to enjoy a more whole food, healthier, pescatarian-type diet. They do not. The following responses were added as they were received…

My husband said if he had to name only one, my Eggplant Parmesan was his favorite and what he would consider my specialty. This is a very suspect response. My husband’s favorite food is meatloaf. Although, I don’t ever make meatloaf because a “log of meat” is just plain disgusting, so there’s that…
My daughter said that my peanut butter is her favorite. Before you start laughing hysterically, I actually do make her peanut butter because she refuses to eat store bought. It’s quite the process. I put peanuts into a food processor and turn it on… Now you can laugh.
Finally, the last family member available to solicit a response from was the boy. I had to wake his little teenage self up to ask the question, to which he quickly replied, “Bagna Cauda”. Seriously? The two times a year that I make this garlic, anchovy, butter, and olive oil dish imprinted in his brain as my speciality.
Hmpf. Maybe my Mediterranean-style diet has rubbed off on them?

Today’s featured image is a gift I received from Mother Nature this morning. I hope you all enjoy as much as I did!
That’s a nice variety of dishes/foods, and each probably required mastering something unique to your recipes!

The fact that you enjoy and put your heart into cooking whatever you make, translates into the enjoyment by others of the food they get to appreciate. It is not always about the food per se and more about your love that is infused into the food!

When I visit my in-laws, we sometimes make a big batch. There definitely is an art to folding them. I’m still a rookie at it and they don’t come out quite right, but still delicious!

You had me at “Eggplant Parmesan.” And here’s a raised glass to the “retired combat boot wearer” in central Illinois from a former flight boot wearer in central Indiana 🙂
