Trust Us

If you had a freeway billboard, what would it say?

No need to do your research. You can trust us.

Sincerely, the Government, News Media, and Health Professionals

We’ve become a society who trusts entirely too much. We blindly receive the injection, swallow the pill, and absorb what is fed to us via news outlets and social media, no questions asked. Algorithms on social media drive narratives. Narratives divide. Division of people support agendas. Agendas don’t always have the people’s best interests in mind.

My billboard would simply be a snarky way to encourage people to think for themselves. To stop taking what is presented to you by the Government, news outlets, social media, and health care professionals at face value.

Dig. Research. Be open to opinions that are different than what you think you know. Most importantly, be willing to change your mindset based on facts. Actual facts. Not opinionated, emotion-based, biased information that is generated on a daily basis.

  1. Well stated! Every single day, humanity is fed through the propaganda machine. Those rare souls who stop to ask “why”, are simply berated as ignorant fools.

Those who proclaim truth and point out the obvious are demonized simply because they don’t parrot and promote the peer pressure campaigns foisted upon all of us.

My Dad gave me a little leather tag 30 years ago. He found it behind some school lockers while he was working as a maintenance man.

I remember the day he brought it home and handed it to me.

“Here, man. This is your daily reminder.”

I took the little leather tag and looked at it. It had a single word pressed into it, a word that has reminded me to not be a lemming, but rather to always be a healthy skeptic.

    The word?
    “THINK”

This is advice that is easier to give than to take, unfortunately. Many of the people who talk about questioning what you think you know think they already figured it out. When that happens you end up with everyone feeling like they’re taking crazy pills because half a country disagrees with the other half about basic facts of reality. It’s not so easy to be genuinely open to different ideas. My question would be what do you think you know and are you actually prepared to be wrong about it?

    1. You make a good point.

      Some proclaim truth as truth.
      Some proclaim lies as truth.

The best solution to this has always been open discussion, healthy discourse, and allowing people the grace to disagree.

Unfortunately, there is so much pushed on humanity that is never allowed to be debated or challenged…probably because an open and honest debate would reveal truths that annihilate propaganda.
