My Boy

Describe a family member.

My blue-eyed man child. <Swoon>

If he does something he shouldn’t have done, it’s because he’s carefully calculated the potential repercussions and decided that it was worth the risk.

He’s my fiscally responsible kid. His savings accounts are bigger than his checking.  Yes, you read that right – saving accounts, plural.

The boy isn’t materialistic, though. He’s never been the type to ask for a lot. He understands the value of items and would rather have one of high quality than many of low.

Not only does he have an extremely strong work ethic, he’s good at what he does. I’m constantly hearing positive comments about how quickly he picked something up or how dedicated he is. He’s the hardest working teenager I know.

He’s smart. Smart enough to do what he has to do to get by.  And no more. Unless he wants to.

When he’s so inclined, he will research and weigh alternatives and learn everything he can about a topic.

He’s my level-headed one. The one that absorbs everything around him like a sponge and forms his own opinion based on fact, not what the masses are following.

He’s not afraid to go against the grain.

He’s a natural born leader. He leads by example and takes the less experienced under his wing. We see this on the courts, more than anything. His teammates are so lucky to have him.

He has an amazing sense of humor and can lob witty comments like zingers. Mama is so proud, lol.

And lastly, because I could be here all day describing my boy… while he has a tough exterior, he’s so very sweet and thoughtful. He’s loyal to his family, friends, and girlfriend. He’s supportive and genuinely cares about the well being of those closest to him.

My boy, my heart.
