What’s your favorite cartoon?
Last time I checked, I was a middle aged adult. I don’t watch cartoons. I read books about death and watch TV series about zombies, vampires, or other supernatural beings.
If we are talking about what cartoons I watched as a child, there are a few that stick out as “favorites”:
- Mighty Mouse
- The Smurfs
- He-Man & Masters of the Universe
- She-Ra: Princess of Power
- The Jetsons
- Chip & Dale Rescue Rangers
- GI Joe
- Alvin & the Chipminks
Shrill, high-pitched voices irritate the hell out of me. Repetitiveness, ear worm jingles, and dumb topics straight up piss me off.
Also, who has time for baby shows when we should be busy adulting?
Where is it about animation, in our society, we tend to automatically assume that animation is geared for children when obviously it is not.
The Flintstones, like the Simpsons, originally aired is a primetime television show.
The old Looney Tunes and Tom and Jerry skits were originally aired at movie theaters before the feature presentation. Unfortunately, now, that time has been co-opted by crappy movie trailers and cheesy Coca-Cola commercials.
And this is to say nothing South Park or most of the animated material that comes out of Japan.
Keep in mind, Iβm not a fan of most of the stuff either. I just hate this perception of people think that animation is automatically for kids.
I love Adulting too, but it does get boring after a while

And judging someone for using the word hate is a strong reaction for somebody who is so heavily invested in Adulting π

No judgement. My opinion? To each their own. I could care less one way or another if someone watches cartoons. The prompt asked MY opinion and I gave it. Enjoy your cartoons, Rob.
