Park It

What is your favorite place to go in your city?

“My city”. Hmpf.

I wasn’t going to answer today’s prompt. I don’t have a city that I would call “mine”. I’m back on my streak, though, so no easy outs. Here we go…

I have a city I was born in, but I haven’t lived there for over 24 years.

The place I grew up in is technically a village. Literally, not figuratively. I had two different houses at a time. I had “mom and her family’s house” and “dad and his family’s house” but never “my house”. Not having a place to call your own makes it hard to claim city, er village camaraderie. Plus, I went to school with a shit ton of snobs. Or, maybe I was the snob? I don’t like most people so thinking back, I was most definitely the snob. Whatever. Bitches.

There have been many cities I’ve lived in. None I would be comfortable calling my own. Just passing through, thanks.

Today, my family lives outside of city limits. A city is listed on our mail. It’s the city that’s closest to our house, but I don’t claim it. Too many snobs. 😏

Let me fix the question….

What is my favorite place to go in the city I live closest to?

The park.
