Hair Care

What part of your routine do you always try to skip if you can?

This is going to sound a lot grosser than it is, but if I’m able to skip washing my hair, I totally do!

As written in a previous post, I am habitual by nature and always stick to a routine. My mornings are like clockwork: up at 5:05a, use the toilet, wash my hands (counting to 30), brush my teeth (with an automatic toothbrush that’s on a timer), dry brush each section of my body 5 times, then shower.

I have a thing for numbers.

I also have a specific sequence I follow while in the shower. If I add ‘wash and condition hair’ to that routine, it adds on an additional 15 minutes, to include drying time. If I have to style, add on another 10 minutes. That means, I either need to wake earlier or rush through my morning routine in order to get my daughter ready for school and on the bus.

I like my sleep and I don’t like to rush.

Not to mention, I do not like to spend money. Having dark hair means the greys are more noticable. Which I am not yet willing to embrace. I hate the price tag that is associated with dying my hair professionally, though. The longer I can go between washes, the longer I can go between colors.

Just because I try to skip this part of my routine, doesn’t mean I can. Today, for example was an up early to wash my hair day kind of day.

I like to buy time between washes to protect my hair. I prefer washing my hair once or twice a week. I use dry shampoo between showers to spruce up my hair to look good!
