What are your favorite websites?

What a weird prompt.

Let’s see… lately, I’ve been spending a lot of time on WordPress. Obviously. I have to post daily blog content somehow.

I use the Google and DuckDuckGo search engines regularly. Google, if I don’t care about a topic being monitored. DuckDuckGo, when I am researching information and want unbiased results.

LivingWell seems to be a site I’ve been frequenting lately. It provides a lot of great information on taking a healthier approach to life.

Is Pinterest a website? I am on that quite a bit. I pin everything: home remodel ideas, recipes, favorite quotes, outfit ideas, workout splits, vacation ideas, and garden tips and tricks, to name a few.

Finally, Facebook has become a necessary evil. I don’t watch the news (too depressing). I rarely get on news websites (biased). Facebook is definitely not a favorite, but has become an information hub of sorts. If don’t stop by every few days, I miss out on current events, family member updates and pictures, invites, and deaths of former coworkers. Not to mention, I regularly use Marketplace to buy and sell used household items.

With all websites, I make an honest attempt not to let mindless scrolling suck the life out of me. Because it has and it will.

  1. At this point, I feel as a Facebook has almost transcended being a website, and is more on par with a home appliance.

Sure, we don’t need to own a washer or dryer, a stove, or a refrigerator; but life in the 21st-century is a whole lot easier with those things around.
