What could you try for the first time?
I used to have the mindset of “I’ll try anything once”. Not so much anymore….
I no longer like to take unnecessary risks. I’ll try local delicacies when I travel, but I will not eat weird food made with animal intestines, blood, or placentas. I don’t like to sway too far from my idea of structure. I don’t like huge crowds.
One thing that I could try for the first time, that includes a slight risk, potential weird foods, and lack of structure: a solo wellness retreat.
It would be my “first” on a lot of fronts:
- I would be traveling solo. I’ve traveled to and from military and work trips solo, but destinations have always been with people I know.
- I would be dedicating a whole weekend/week to me. Just me. I’m honestly not sure how I would react. My entire life has been designed around someone else’s happiness in mind.
- I would be giving full control of my dietary intake to someone else. I’m not a picky eater, by any means, but I know what I like, what gives me energy, and what doesn’t tear up my insides.
- I would be spending a shit ton of money on something that only benefits me. Again, not something I have ever, ever done.
A solo wellness retreat is something that I could definitely try for the first time, if I were able to get past the guilt. 🙂
I don’t know what it is about getting older and being less willing to step out of our comfort zones, but I’m the same way.

Maturity? That’s what I’m going with, lol. Makes me sound not so old. 😬
