List 30 things that make you happy.
In no particular order…
- The first sip of a strong, hot, creamy cup of coffee. Bonus points if it’s out of the “perfect mug” for the day. If you know, you know.
- Belly laughs.
- Driving my car, preferably with the windows down and my system up. 😏
- My sleepy-eyed, almost 12-year old climbing into my lap to snuggle for a few precious minutes before her day begins.
- Music. Pandora, LPs, CDs, live bands. I love it all.
- Wrapping and giving gifts.
- Receiving a compliment from a complete stranger on how <fill in the blank – polite, charismatic, thoughtful, etc.> one of my kids are.
- Pie.
- Those in sync, us against the world, big team vibe moments with my hubby.
- Long runs and powerful lift sessions. Bonus points on this one if I get sauna time in afterwards as well!
- Unprovoked hugs from my teenage man-child.
- Giant pots of soup in the winter, BLTs made with garden tomatoes in the summer, chili and s’mores over a campfire in the fall.
- Thunderstorms.
- Organized spaces.
- Clever comments and witty comebacks. Either given or received.
- Hearing that I made a difference and/or positively impacted someone’s career, outlook, or life.
- Clean sheets, hospital corners, and fluffed pillows.
- Shoveling snow.
- Perfect food bites. You know the ones… Normally, it’s the first bite. The anticipated, never disappointing bite of something delicious. Butter-dripping, salty, crunchy steamed corn on the cob. Juicy, sun-ripened peaches. Decadent chocolate cake, with just the right amount of smooth and creamy icing. A perfectly seared scallop.
- Alone time.
- Baby deer. Baby cows. Baby geese. Babies.
- Baseball games.
- Financial security. Paying off loans and credit cards and seeing our savings grow makes me very happy.
- Accomplishing something hard and/or difficult. 😬
- Shooting stars, repeating numbers, and other wish-worthy moments.
- Giant cups of tea in front of a roaring fire, in the dead of winter, curled up with a good book.
- Those daily reminders of how utterly amazing human beings all of my kids are.
- Popcorn.
- Sunrises and sunsets.
