What will your life be like in three years?
A lot can happen in a year. But three? Life could look exceptionally different!
Professionally, I will still be putting along at my job, but will be three years closer to retirement. I haven’t quite decided if I want to pursue the next step on the GS pay scale. If I do decide to take on additional responsibilities, it will probably be around this time that I take the plunge.
Personally, I will have continued to grow and evolve.
At an average of 40 books read per year, I will have an additional 120 books/topics under my belt. Granted, most of these will be the murder-death-kill genre, with a sprinkling of nonfiction. At least I’ll be a little bit more knowledgeable? Or know how to properly bury a body in my backyard…
In three years’ time, I hope to have gotten off my dead ass and self-published a book of short stories. I also hope to have secured an illustrator for my children’s book and have reconnected with the publishing agent. (Big dreams!)
With a new administration in office, our world will look a lot different. Cost of living will go down. The ability to spend on extracurriculars will go up. Travel to other countries will be considered safe again. I will have been bitten by the travel bug, yearning to see and do more.
Physically, I will be stronger, more toned, and healthier than ever.
Mentally, three years’ wiser, I will have tackled my reaction to stressors. I will continue to pursue excellence in everything I do. I will prioritize myself and my mental health over everything. I will let go of anything that does not bring me joy or makes me question my self-worth. In three years, my boundaries will be fucking solid.
Oh, and maybe I won’t be saying “fuck” so much?
Who am I kidding, that will never happen.
